EcoPanel

Thinking Green, Choose EcoPanel for all construction works

Our sustainable ECOPANEL consists of a polystyrene insulation core that has fire retardant additives (non-flammable), and a welded wire mesh frame with a Diagonal Wire Truss. It is used for the construction of any type of building including residential, industrial, high-rise buildings, swimming pools, school projects, hospitals, industrial parks, etc. It is used to construct buildings in their entirety or in conjunction with other traditional materials and methods in both metal and concrete framing works (slabs, beams, columns).

Our EcoPanel serves as an ALTERNATIVE BUILDING MATERIAL which is a major innovation in construction and is used in a variety of construction projects. It is a multi-functional wall framing system that is sustainable, energy-efficient, and enhances structural strength and it comes with numerous benefits.

Single ECOPANEL

Single EcoPanels are excellent for load bearing walls, partitions, stairs, slabs, and claddings. Again, some architects and construction engineers allow its usage for roofs/floors by increasing its size in accordance with the building design. Single EcoPanels are used for apartment buildings for up to four (4) floors without beams and columns

Configurations

Most common configuration of the Ecopanels are indicated below:

The thickness of the polystyrene core (the EPS) in EcoPanel may vary between 40mm to 250mm depending on the requirements of the architectural design. This thickness plus the micro-concrete layer, which is usually between 25mm – 35 mm on each side, makes up the total thickness of the wall. Each Ecopanel has nominal width of 1,200 mm with a height up to 3,000mm and it can be extended to 6000mm as well.

Ecopanel receives its strength from the two sheets of 2.8mm thick galvanised  steel wire welded to sandwich  the EPS core to form the EcoPanel. It provides tensile and compressive strength as well as structural integrity. The welding is done diagonaly through the EPS core which distributes loads and stresses equally across the entire structure producing a product with an unparalleled strength. The resultant top and bottom mesh reinforcement grid measures 100 x 50 mm spacing.

The mesh on both sides have an extension of 50 mm at opposite ends in such a way that when two panels are joined together they overlap. Thus they ensure they are placed side by side without the need for additional elements to join them up.

Accessories

There are different galvanized wire meshes which serves as reinforcement to the EcoPanel building system which contributes to the structural integrity of the building. These accessories are compound by galvanized steel wires with 2.8 – 3 mm in diameter and grid dimension 50mm x 50mm.

Kinds of accessories:

  • Flat Mesh (MP): Used for straight joints between panels.
  • Angular Mesh (MA): Uses in perpendicular joints between wall-to-wall and wall-to-slab. The angle can be adapted by hand.
  • “U” Mesh (MU): Used for reinforcing the edges and the openings of the walls.

Uses

EcoPanels can be used for

Residential Homes,

Apartment Blocks,

Hospitals,

Offices,

Warehouses

Pools, etc.

It can adapt to any architecture, so architects don’t need to design in any specific way.

Advantages & Benefits

Energy savings and Sustainability

The sustainability of our planet means a green culture for a future yet to be built. Buildings consume a high amount of energy. As the majority of waste comes from heating and air conditioning, energy savings is the answer to cut the rising energy costs and reduce co2 emissions into the atmosphere. Ecopanel system reduces Co2 emissions by up to 30 percent during the construction of the building up to 55 percent during residential use of the building a virtuous ecological process for the entire lifetime of the building. A more efficient building system, results in less waste and lighter building, reducing the carbon footprint, during and after the construction period and that is what EcoPanel does.

Cost-effective.

This building system is most favored for mass housing projects where delivery deadlines cannot be allowed to run up costs on borrowed money, or where construction budgets must not be rubbished by inflation. Buildings can be rapidly installed ensuring early return on investment. Using ecopanel to build, one can save on labour due to its speed in installation and an overall running cost in energy consumption due to its insulation properties.

Once plastered (Monolithic)

Once plastered the result is an all-around reinforced concrete monolithic structure capable of withstanding Earthquake, Hurricanes, Fire and even explosion.

Speed of installation

Ecopanel system offers a unique construction technique that saves time in construction. One of its biggest advantages is the reduction in construction time which leads to reduction in labour costs. For example: building 4 walls, each of which is 3.6metres by 3metres high, will require approximately 450 pieces of traditional sand Crete blocks. This will take 2 masons and 2 laborers about 3 days to complete. Remember that it is advisable not to lay more than 6 courses in one day. Also, the productivity of one mason is 80 blocks per day maximum below waist level and as little as 60 blocks up to head course. 450 is about 45m2, a panel is 3.6m2 therefore you looking at 14panels. This can be installed by 2 unskilled workers in just 1-hour.

Entire perimeter weight distribution

The Ecopanel completed with shotcrete layer and plastering becomes a structural weight bearing element of the construction unit. The profile of the polystyrene core with vertical and horizonal mesh forms micro-piles of reinforced concrete distributing the weight of the structure around the entire perimeter.

Versatility

The Ecopanel is versatile. It allows the implementation of different architectural designs and concepts. The panels can be moulded into various unique designs like, Domes and roofs without internal support and even act as deep beams.

Efficient Thermal insulation & Acoustical

The ecopanel core gives an all-around insulation that can save up to 40% of energy bills.

Comparison (Ecopanel vs. Traditional Materials)

  • The panels can be transported easily from the factory to the construction site because they are light. On the other hand, blocks used in traditional building or pre-cast building is bulky, heavy and more expensive to transport and off-load.
  • EcoPanel system of construction reduces the risk of theft of raw materials. The walls are significantly larger than single hollow blocks and thus more difficult to conceal without detection. Inventory of panels can be monitored from the factory to the site, as the contractor will know the exact number of EcoPanels required for a given project.
